This Counselors-In-Training Workshop is now available for you to offer as a program at your School, Recreation Department, Boys & Girls Club, or Community Center.
COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING
Counselors-In-Training is for young adults who work for organizations that provide recreational programs for groups of young children.
- 4-Hour Training Course
- For ages 13 and older
- Maximum 40 students
- Instructor fee: $325*
- Course manuals included
- Perfect to train your current counselors; or
- Offer the class as a pre-requisite for a counselor job
This Workshop discusses:
- Responsibilities of overseeing young children
- Protecting the children in their care
- Who to contact in an emergency
- Incident & Injury reports
- Medications
- Dealing with a missing child
- Fire safety
- Building & area safety
- Conducting activities & boarding vehicles safely
- Basic First Aid & First Aid kit maintenance
- Understanding a child's ability
- Acting professionally & transition from buddy to boss
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Serving Eastern & Central Massachusetts and other locations within New England, Debbie LaFlamme is a licensed day care provider in Massachusetts. With her degree in Early Childhood Education, she has over 20 years of experience in caring for children of all ages in her home. About ten years ago, she created the Babysitters Training Course and has since expanded her course to Home Alone Safety and Counselors-In-Training. In the past 5 years, her courses have grown tremendously and are now being offered to many local schools, church groups, and community organizations.
Nonprofit organizations have earned thousands of dollars by offering Ms. LaFlamme's training courses as fundraisers. Many others use them as Enrichment Programs for their organizations.
