Hello, Everyone!

I would like to introduce you to a new friend of mine- Jim Berigan.

For the last four years, Jim has been the main writer at a great site called TopSchoolFundraisers.com. During that time, he has also been a contributing writer and editor at StepByStepFundraising.com.

Previously, Jim has worked as the principal/administrator of a private elementary school and also as the associate director of a non-profit summer camp and retreat center. In all, Jim has spent the last 25 years working in the not-for-profit world.

Now, Jim has turned his attention to creating his own website and blog. He calls it “EverybodyHatesFundraising”. He picked this peculiar name, because he has sensed a growing resentment on the part of many donors in regards to how they are being treated by some non-profit organizations and schools.

Jim has recognized a real “fundraising fatigue” out there. He feels this comes from a constant stream of fundraising requests that aren’t coordinated or original.

After having talked with Jim about various fundraising strategies, I feel that he and I share many of the same beliefs about how the fundraising strategies of non-profits and schools should be run. For example, Jim is a big supporter of our “Fundraising with a School Spelling Challenge". This is a perfect example of a fundraiser that draws people together, promotes academic achievment, raises a lot of money, and keeps that money local.

When you put all of this together, Jim has a feeling that there are a lot of folks out there who have come to “hate” fundraising. He wants to fight and reverse this trend by teaching people how to raise money in a positive way that respects donors and keeps the money local.

To this end, Jim has created a free year-long e-Course about this kind of school fundraising. All you have to do is visit his site and submit your first name and email address in the e-Course sign-up form. Just follow the instructions after that, and you’ll be all set.

It’s very easy and totally free- without commitment. You’ll get your fundraising lesson delivered right to your inbox each week, without fail. If you decide you aren’t getting anything out of the class, you can unsubscribe at any time.

The content of the course starts right at the beginning. He addresses topics about how and why you chose to get involved with fundraising, how to manage the expectations on you, how to get others involved, how to set up an effective plan for the entire year, and how to choose what fundraisers to run.

He’s divided the class up into four, 13 week segments: 101, 201, 301, and 401. As the class level increases, so too will the material in the course, so that by the end of the year, you will have covered many challenging topics and hopefully used them to better your school.

I highly recommend that you take a moment to check out EverybodyHatesFundraising and the free e-Course . Jim has an important message about fundraising to share.

Enjoy!,
