Raffle Prize Ideas

Gathering quality raffle prize items is the most critical part of planning a raffle. Without items, you have nothing to raffle off. Without QUALITY items, you'll have low sales.

RAFFLE PRIZE IDEAS

A large First Prize draws attention to your raffle and draws in sales so you'll want to first seek this primary prize.

MONEY: See information on planning a Monetary, Squares, or Calendar Raffle at our Raffles page.

TUITION CREDIT: Offer a First prize of a $5,000 tuition credit. Sell $25 raffle tickets. Distribute them to school families, relatives, friends, faculty, alumni, and businesses throughout the town. The key is to allow the credit to be used at ANY educational institution; this opens the door to an unlimited number of families with children in school. One school has an average profit of $8,000 which means they sell about 520 tickets.

CAR: Luxury cars, sports cars, SUVs, or even a restored classic. If you are raffling off a large item (i.e. car) it's a good idea to consult with an attorney.

TRIPS: Vacation packages to a resort or a weeks stay at a villa in Tuscany, Italy. A cruise, round-trip airfare, airline miles, hotel gift certficates for several nights stay. Larger prizes can be accompanied by smaller ones like gas and car rental certificates.

ELECTRONICS: Large Screen TV's, surround-sound systems, stereo, DCD player, Ipod.

TICKETS: To a professional sporting event.

LOTTERY TICKETS: Purchase several lottery tickets and hang them together in the shape of a wreath, car, airplane, football, tree, or anything really! It makes the tickets a little more interesting and gives you a way to display them. These should only be sold to adults 18 years and older; but check your own state's laws.

GIFT CERTIFICATES: Gift certificates to home improvement stores, restaurants, shopping malls, or just about anywhere. Consider putting several smaller dollar amount certificates together as a single package. Display them as a group on a wreath.

GIFT BASKETS: Just about any number of items can be put together to make up a single themed gift basket. A basket can hold items worth $25 or even $1,000 or more. Click here for a complete list of themed Gift Basket ideas.

SPA APPIONTMENTS: Offer a luxury afternoon. First prize may be an expensive spa package, while 2nd, 3rd, and 4th prizes may be smaller treatments from the same or similar shop.
